After careful thought and deliberation, The Board of Trustees of the Tiffin-Seneca Heritage Festival announces the trying decision to cancel the 42nd Annual Tiffin-Seneca Heritage Festival, originally scheduled for September 19, 20 and 21 in Hedges -Boyer Park and Downtown Tiffin, Ohio.

For 42 consecutive years, the City of Tiffin has welcomed the Tiffin-Seneca Heritage Festival the third full weekend in September. We have seen thousands of visitors gather to Tiffin for Ohio’s 8th largest festival and enjoy all of their favorite food, crafts, rides and entertainment both past and present. With the help and support of the citizens of Seneca County, we have been able to keep this event going strong.

In planning a completely safe event for visitors and volunteers, while complying with all the restrictions of crowd size and social distancing with recommendation from the Seneca County Health Commissioner, safety with food and beverage, and the possibility of not having rides, we have determined that the challenges of holding the 2020 festival within the health guidelines, give us a sense of uncertainty in our abilities to hold a festival that can be enjoyed by everybody in our community.

We ask that you realize that this has been the most trying issue we have had, as leaders of this festival. We want to say a heartfelt thank you to each of our volunteers who work tirelessly year after year to bring a safe, enjoyable festival to all of us. We also thank our city and county officials, our many food and craft vendors as well as our entertainment and corporate sponsors for their support over the years.

Note that there may be independent activities happening that weekend. Any activities still scheduled for that weekend are independent from the Tiffin-Seneca Heritage Festival with their own planning committees and leadership.

We will be back next year to present an amazing celebration for our entire community. The 43rd Tiffin-Seneca Heritage Festival is now scheduled for September 17,18 and 19, 2021. Mark your calendars, it’s going to an amazing celebration of our heritage.
